Dodge Viper

Not to be outdone by the Chevrolet Corvette, the Viper has just upped the horsepower war to 600 horsepower in the new 2008 Dodge Viper and still cost less than $100,000. Viper looks are one of a kind, and command attention wherever a Viper is present. With a huge 8.4 L V10 engine up front, and no traction control, this is one beast that demands your attention when driving or it can easily end up a wrecked exotic. Not for the tame of heart, Vipers are often hot inside due to extreme exhaust heat, and hot surfaces. Some vipers owners say this only adds to the character that a Viper is not for everyone. To those scared of the Viper, they don’t know what their missing!

5. Ferrari 360 Modena / Ferrari 430 Modena – Best Regular Production Ferrari Ever

Ferrari

The Ferrari 360 and 430 Modena is the best regular production Ferrari of all time. With a mid-engine V8 horsepower ranging from 400 horsepower in the F360 to 483 hp for the F430. Car and Driver magazine tested the Ferrari F430 and recorded a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds. This makes the car the second quickest Ferrari ever, behind only the Enzo which is about 5 times more money. Handling from the mid-engined supercar is nothing short of perfect. The sound from the engine is amazing. Add a Tubi exhaust and you have one of the best sounding cars in the world.

4. Lamborghini Diablo Roadster – Every Kid’s Dream Car

Lamborghini

The Lamborghini Diablo during its production of over 10 years was almost every kid’s dream car. With doors perfected from the previous Lamborghini Countach, everybody knew you were in a Lamborghini even if they had never seen one before! With a V-12 engine, all wheel drive, horsepower ranges of over 500+ , and a removable roof to soak in all the sun, what more could you ask for?

3. McLaren F1 – The fastest car in the world when built in 1995 and it held that title for about 10 years.

McLaren F1

An amazing feat in the automotive world. With a 627 horsepower mid mounted engine and a top speed of over 240 mph the V12 McLaren F1 is an extremely fast and very light almost race car like exotic. The car is made mostly of Carbon Fiber to reduce weight. No expenses were spared making the F1, costly carbon fiber, and exotic materials were used everywhere. Gold was used on the engine compartment lid because it is such a good heat deflecting material. This car looks amazing in pictures. The driver sits in the middle of the car, for the best driving experience possible. There are 2 jump seats to the right and left behind the driver, possibly for the 2 dates you may have tonight due to the attention you will receive when you drive a McLaren F1.

2. Ferrari Enzo – This is the fastest street legal production Ferrari ever made.

Ferrari Enzo

At the time of production, the Enzo was arguably the fastest street legal car ever made. Although this may not be much of a daily driver due to its 1 million dollars plus price tag, compared to some of the other cars on this list, this ultimate Ferrari is striking in person, has unique doors that hinge upwards and attracts attention from miles away. With a 651 horsepower V12 mid mounted engine (the engine is just behind the driver’s seat), it has world class handling also. The ultimate Ferrari can only be beat by our #1 top pick.

1. Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster – The #1 Coolest Car

Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster
Lamborghini Murcielago 640 Roadster

The Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster is the ultimate exotic car while having a top down atmosphere on that warm summer day. This was even Batman’s car in his latest movie. It has a 6.2 L V12 engine with all wheel drive and 640 horsepower. The doors open upwards in ultimate exotic car style. Lamborghinis are often posters on the walls of children growing up and this newest version from Lambo is the best yet. Everywhere you go people will want to take pics with your lamborghini. This is the ultimate coolest car.

Special mention:

Porsche Carrera GT – Although this is the fastest street legal Porsche ever made, it just didn’t live long enough.

Bugatti Veyron – Although this is the fastest car in the world, the exterior appearance of the car surely doesn’t look like its worth over $1.5 million dollars. Not to mention you could buy about 750 Ford Mustangs for the price of one Bugatti.

Mercedes McLaren SLR – An awesome car, but very short lived, and along with the Porsche Carrera GT, even the super rich weren’t buying these cars.

Rolls Royce Phantom – Although the Rolls might be considered one level up on the luxury and status departments, the Bentley GT beats it in the category that matters here – Coolest Cars.

Ford Mustang – A legendary American icon for years. The mustang’s attractive price makes this a must have for somebody looking for an affordable cool car! Also the new 2011 Mustangs even its v6 version now produces over 300 horsepower and gets 31 mpg on the highway! This is the new direction in which cars should be moving, fun and fast, yet getting great gas milage!

Chevrolet Corvette – Another legendary American icon. Can break into the supercar arena with an attractive horsepower per buck ratio. Although much too common on any summer day and 2 to 3 times the price of a Mustang GT.

I have had the privilege of owning 5 of the top 10 cars above and 1 of the special mention. I must say its been an amazing experience and hopefully the future will bring me the other 5 of the top 10 someday!
