Although meant strictly for European and Asian markets, the new Ford Tourneo Custom van does offer an early look at the style and features we can expect to see when the automaker finally replaces its veteran full-size E-Series/Econoline vans here in fall 2013. Presented in Ford Tourneo Custom concept form earlier this month in Geneva, the production model Tourneo Custom seen here retains most of the dynamic visual character of the original one-off, bringing Ford’s “Kinetic Design” language to the truck side of the game.

As for creature features, the new Ford Tourneo Custom brings a host of new and welcome touches that should also serve the Ford Transit side of the family well. The Ford Tourneo Custom Concept is such a viable concept that if brought to the market can give tough competition to commercial movers like Toyota Innova; the commercial people mover car segment here is largely dominated by Innova as it has no big competitor in the same.

However, the in-built connectivity system which is SYNC voice activated and enabled with emergency assistance could make this new Ford Tourneo Custom Concept car a tough competitor for the likes of Innova. The Ford Tourneo Custom Concept will be a winner in the looks department as well with a cool sportier look, flush glazing and clean, futuristic lines; this is a very new look in this category of people mover cars.
