Used as equipment on several different sedans, coupes, minivans, and crossovers, the Goodyear Eagle LS tires is one of the company’s best-selling tires. Designed for all-season use, the LS is engineered to provide good traction and a smoother ride.

The all-season tread compound combines with the symmetrical tread pattern and Goodyear triple block geometry for improved handling on dry or wet surfaces. The rounded shoulders and larger outer tread blocks are designed for faster cornering and quicker steering response, which this model does a great job of.

Wide circumferential grooves and additional screening around the tread are designed to improve wet performance and reduce the risk of hydroplaning while maximizing traction on light snow. Curved tread boundaries enhance ride quality by eliminating road noise and keeping everything quiet.

The Eagle LS features two nylon-reinforced steel straps for added strength and durability when traveling at higher speeds. They also add smoother tread clothing and longer life, Goodyear Eagle LS mileage backed up with a 70,000-mile tread warranty. You will find a variety of sizes available in several different speed ratings.

General thoughts

The Eagle LS is one of those tires that you think will perform much better than it actually does, especially due to its use as an OE on so many different types of vehicles. Unfortunately, its performance is not up to par. Of course, it does very well in some things, such as traction on dry pavement, and has good steering ability for the most part. Ride comfort is okay too.

Where the tire falls short is, of course, in winter road conditions. We’ve heard this from other drivers’ reviews, all of them claiming how poor traction is on snow and ice. In addition, wet grip falls short of other top-end tires in its class, and tread life is shorter than expected.

Overall, we give him a spot in the bottom half of the touring all-season category.
