We can still remember the strikingly fabulous 2013 Lincoln MKZ concept introduced at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, keeping the good things and improving others, the redesigned 2013 Lincoln MKZ will obviously set the new standard of a luxury, modern and eco-friendly car. With all-new sheet metal, a choice of three engines, and a full range of driving and entertainment system, the 2013 Lincoln MKZ will blow the market later this year

As the first car designed by the dedicated team at Ford’s Lincoln Design Studio, there are some improvements made regarding the look of the new 2013 Lincoln MKZ itself. Out front, the 2013 Lincoln MKZ begins with revamped split-wing chrome grille and angular headlights, which form a V-shape ahead of a hood in the concept car adorned with numerous strakes and folds to bring the more lively body lines. 2013 Lincoln MKZ also has a steeply raked windshield that, along with other flourishes, improves aerodynamic performance up to 10-percent over the current MKZ.

There are two signature features that always will be exclusive to the 2013 Lincoln MKZ; first, the Lincoln’s Noise Cancellation System. This system will reduce unpleasant sounds inside the 2013 Lincoln MKZ cabin. Lincoln says it should make the 2013 Lincoln MKZ feel even more quiet and insulated. The second feature offered only by the 2013 Lincoln MKZ is the Lincoln’s Drive Control; the drivers can pick from three driving modes: Normal, Comfort, and Sport.

Each mode alters settings for the 2013 Lincoln MKZ electric power steering, engine and transmission, Active Noise Cancellation, and stability control; this control system also influences the Continuously Controlled Damping Adaptive Suspension. Also set to become a signature of the 2013 Lincoln cars technology, this new suspension system provides continuous automatic adjustment up to 500 times per second to provide the best compromise possible between sporty handling and a compliant ride of the 2013 Lincoln MKZ while underway.

As the driving modes stated above, option is something that the 2013 Lincoln MKZ buyers will love to consider. First, there is the engine option, the 2013 Lincoln MKZ will offer two other engines beside the standard turbocharged EcoBoost 2.0-liter inline-four with 240 hp power outcome. The 2013 Lincoln MKZ upgrade engine is a 3.7-liter V-6 rated at 300 hp which is an improved type of the 263 hp 3.5-liter V-6 used in the current Lincoln MKZ.

Both 2013 Lincoln MKZ engines, the standard and the upgrade option, are mated to a six-speed dual-clutch automatic and all-wheel drive is -of course- optional. The other choice is the 2013 Lincoln MKZ hybrid engine, a combination of a 2.0-liter inline-four engine and an electric motor-generator. There is also a more eco-friendly option of the 2013 Lincoln Hybrid engine for the 2013 Lincoln MKZ; the gas engine alone will produce around 141 hp while the peak power from both sources combined is 188 hp.

Introduced as a concept earlier this year at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, the 2013 Lincoln MKZ release date is expected later this year as a companion for the redesigned 2013 Ford Fusion. Overall, the 2013 Lincoln MKZ is the perfect new start for both Ford’s and Lincoln’s new image campaign. Although the 2013 Lincoln MKZ will be competing in a class which includes Acura TL, Audi A4, BMW 3-series, Infiniti G37, Mercedes-Benz C-class and Volkswagen CC, this is the one that will hopefully make the 2013 Lincoln cars a more high-end brand and once again be associated with luxury.
